If another umpire leaves the infield to cover a potential play in foul
ground or in the outfield, then the plate umpire may move to cover a
potential play near second or third base. (The umpire-in-chief should
not be confused with the crew chief, who is often a different umpire;
see below.) In the event that an umpire is injured and only three
remain, generally the second base position will be left vacant.
The showing of two Umpires is reason to understand two umpries are
injured but yet the same umpires are shown but with a switch of 1st
Base and Home Plate by prior at home plate was "Felix and Luke" and or
reverse leaving Second Base out and no discussion of Third Base the
Eye Gate from 1st Base to third Base while a ball hit down 1st base
line and runner to 3rd allowed the Chief At the plate waiting for fair
ball as 1st base Umpire is watching the runner from first base to
second then what Umpire is watching third base while two umpires are

HEAT WARNING IN THE SOUTHWEST HAS PRODUCED A STRONG CAP OF THE ATMOSPHERE ABOVE 10,000 FEET

A strong Dry air Cap on a Air Mass over the Southwest of The United
States primary Arizona - but the Thermal low is moving to The North
and Northwest as stated by METEOROLOGIST JEFF HABY The surface may be
warm and moist and it feels unstable at the surface but a layer of
very stable air aloft can prevent the warm and moist air near the
surface from convectively rising into thunderstorms. The problem is
Dew points in The Valley of Central California at near 50 degrees but
at near 10,000 feet elevation Dew Point of near 27 degrees is a cap of
Dry air a number of Theories concerning a Cap at such level one would
be as METEOROLOGIST JEFF HABY stated The inversion this creates is
commonly called a cap or lid. The surface may be warm and moist and it
feels unstable at the surface but a layer of very stable air aloft can
prevent the warm and moist air near the surface from convectively
rising into thunderstorms. What would cause a change in the "Lid" -
such perplex condition exist with Gales on The Central Coast of
California a subsiding of air down from the "Lid" that Mr. Haby spoke
of but where does rise of the air then come from of such heating of
the Thermal of Arizona - the air cap at 10,000 feet and moist air
below begins into a bank of Fog that is not within the lapse rate of
from 95 degrees of the Central valley of California to 55 degrees near
10,000 is to say that a convective Thunderstorm of mid levels cannot
be developed? In Such Thunderstorm causing cloud to cloud lighting to
a few Cloud to ground strikes but covection limits are to 10,000 feet
thence cap and a reach into the cold air before Tropophase can
develope to a "Break" of the lid of Daytime heating moving North from
the Arizona into The Sierra Nevada.

A Run on Harry the Hendersons renewed interest in "Big Foot"

While on Liberty from The United States Navy prior to my move into
Vietnam - I had the interesting meeting with a relative partner of
Anderson of Anderson and Lehman a small Hardware store in Tuolumne
County California - Lowel Lehman interduced me to his Daughter name
Wendy Lehman and in process after a fine dinner we all sat down much
like Ben on Bonanza Television show on Legend of "Big Foot" in
Tuolumne County California - The County located just within the
Northern Boundary of Yosemite National Park - now mind you did not
discount the Legend of "Big Foot" itself in 1967 but during the table
leave of stories to dinner persons which is the Custom of such County
- you see Tuolumne County is a broken part of Stanislaus County and
the Forest in Tuolumne County carry the name of Stanislaus the River
itself hold on to John Muir History of the Battles that one may check
out on Hetch Hetchy - the story goes a Large shoe like a foot was used
in lose ground to leave a mark and a call to authorities started the
line of "Big Foot" that the Union Democrat a local paper from the
1850's would up until its Editor Harvey McGee died in latter 1990's in
his wisdom for tourist he Harvey would do a hunt for evidence for a
reward before The Mother Lode Roundup - even to this day both the
Lehmans and myself are wondering if he Found "Big Foot" from all his
evidence - even tho the Migration route of The Big Foot Clans are from
The southern Sierra Neveda Near Los Angeles all the way into the
Wildlands of Alaska.

Face time with Bertha: last day above ground for massive tunneling machine cutterhead


Suspended from a towering crane at the south end of downtown Seattle, the five-story-tall face of Bertha, the world's largest tunneling machine, spent its last day above ground looking squarely at the old viaduct it was built to replace. Next stop: the 80-foot-deep launch pit where tunneling will start this summer.


 

Crews working with the Washington State Department of Transportation lowered Bertha's 838-ton cutterhead into the launch pit today, ending eight weeks of heavy lifting, when crews moved machine parts up to 900 tons each from a ship at nearby Terminal 46 to the bottom of the pit. With the biggest pieces now in position, crews will focus on welding pieces together, connecting wires and hoses and testing the machine prior to its summer launch beneath downtown Seattle.


 

As Bertha's owner, WSDOT tunneling contractor Seattle Tunnel Partners, is responsible for ensuring she functions properly at all times. Testing will take about two months and is being overseen by manufacturer Hitachi Zosen Corp. The machine officially becomes the property of STP once it has tunneled approximately 1,000 feet. 


 

Bertha, who has been updating her progress on Twitter since December, soaked up the moment. "I've posed for more photos today than I can count," @BerthaDigsSR99 tweeted Friday. "I love to smile, but seeing pictures of myself just reminds me that I'm all teeth."


 

In addition to assembling and testing the machine, crews are preparing the area near the launch pit for tunneling. That work includes strengthening the soil and building protected work areas along the initial section of the tunnel route, so engineers can perform scheduled inspections of the machine before it begins digging beneath downtown. Meanwhile, work continues near the north end of the Battery Street Tunnel to prepare the area where Bertha will emerge at the end of tunneling.

Join WSDOT for an upcoming speaker series to find out next steps as crews test the machine and prepare to begin tunneling. You'll also learn about some of the technological advances on the SR 99 tunneling machine, including how a 300-foot-long machine steers underground and what happens when the steel cutters on the front of the machine need to be changed.

Egress and Ingress of 10th Street in Modesto California

To a simple Land Attorney egress and ingress discripted Easement are
"Forever" - The problem was when the "Doubletree" was built on the
Santa Fe Railroad Patent that it blocked the 10th Street Easement - so
the next best thing for City of Modesto to do was to block 10th Street
between J and K Street to cover the block of The "Doubletree" but by
Law such Street is to continue through the "Double Tree" (DT) how
would one correct such error in Patent Laws of Santa Fe Rail road
Patent - one nice way has been done in many Cities after a Review by
Congress in Lot would be a tunnel under DT or a loss of Rooms a Tunnel
through DT itself - such can be provided with Funding after Federal
Lot for Easement - but since State Highway 108 is re-alined down K
Street does leave a State Hold on the Transfer of All property on such
section until Lot is done in Congress - In such by Law 10th Street is
to be opened as well a re-establish of sheriff Office in its former
office on 10th Street. Information of Article provided by Goldland
Abstracts a Land Abstract Office since 1978.

Use of chainsaws for firewood cutting on public lands managed by the
Bureau of Land Management in northeast California and far northwest
Nevada has been suspended because of extreme fire dangers. The
chainsaw prohibition and other fire restrictions apply to BLM managed
land in Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Sierra, Shasta, Siskiyou and Washoe
counties. Restrictions will remain in place until fire dangers
decrease.

"Last summer's Ray May fire destroyed more than 3,600 acres and caused
more than $2.8 million in damage. It also made that area incredibly
vulnerable to landslides. One year and one day after the devastating
Ray May fire started, a landslide in the same area stopped traffic for

"Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle Area" (BLM Barstow Field Office)
Johnson Valley is a varied landscape for the off-highway vehicle
driver. It is punctuated by steep red rocky mountains, rolling hills,

4,600 feet at Hartwell Hills to 2,300 feet at Melville Dry Lake.

A group with "CalGuns.com, a nonprofit website dedicated to supporting
gun owners" is joining the BLM to lead a cleanup tomorrow (Saturday,
Aug. 25) in the Perris area. "The land is one of few open areas of
wilderness where locals can fire weapons," an organizer said.
"Volunteers plan to clean up the mess other gun owners left in the
area." The organizer "hopes that while the group cleans up the
wilderness, they can clean up people's perception of firearm

"Shedding some light on history" (San Luis Obispo County Tribune, 8/16/12)
More than 100 visitors celebrated National Lighthouse Day at Piedras
Blancas Light Station Aug. 4. "Enactors in 1890 period attire brought

fence and preparing to clean the lens in the lighthouse. "One of the

doing fine. But they're thriving off last year's grass. The big
concern is this winter they could be in real trouble ... You know,
I've seen animals that have died from starvation and dehydration. It's
the worst thing I've ever experienced. And so we're going to insure
that these animals survive next year and for many years to come."

"BLM concludes horse gather in the Desatoya Mountains" (BLM Nevada, 8/22/12)
BLM Nevada concluded the Desatoya Horse Gather on Tuesday, August 21.
The preliminary numbers of animals gathered are 429 wild horses. Of
those gathered 24 stallions were released back to the range. The
gather area is located approximately 70 miles east of Fallon, Nev.
within Churchill and Lander counties. The purpose of the gather was to
reduce the herd populations of excess wild horses and to implement
population growth controls to achieve or maintain a thriving natural
ecological balance on the public lands.
